I love to drive and I enjoy meeting new people, so being an instructor for BTW classes is a perfect fit for me.  Teaching students develop habits that will serve them to become skilled and defensive drivers, builds on my extensive background working in the field of public health specifically in the prevention of use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs.

I have been an instructor for ODEC for three years and nothing is more rewarding than when a student has that “aha” moment because a technique they’ve been struggling with finally “clicks in”. I also teach the DMV permit preparation test in English and Spanish.

My husband and I are raising a grandson who will be an eighth grader this year.  Between his school activities, several volunteer commitments, and UO Duck games, I’m as busy now in retirement as I was when fully employed. I couldn’t be happier!
